Body of missing woman Miya Marcano found, sheriff says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — WFTV has confirmed that the body of Miya Marcano has been found near a troubled condominium complex in Orange County, sheriff John Mina said during a press conference on Saturday.

Forensics investigators have surrounded the Tymber Skan by the Lake condos where the 19-year-old was discovered dead just over a week after her disappearance.

Investigators believe that a maintenance worker at an Orange County complex, the Arden Villas, used a master key fob on Sept. 24 to break into her apartment and abduct her.

That man, Armando Caballero, was found dead on Sept. 27 at a different apartment complex in Seminole County in an apparent suicide. Since then, investigators have been searching across Orange, Seminole and Volusia counties

Arden Villas, the complex where Miya Marcano was last seen alive, released a lengthy statement regarding the hiring of Caballero.

They said all potential employees are vetted through a national background check services provider, and that no records of either burglary or sexual assault were found during Caballero’s background check.
