Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida hosting drive-thru college fair

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida is hosting its second annual Drive-Thru College Fair this week.

The event, scheduled for Thursday from 5 to 7:30 p.m., will be open to all local high school students outside the club at 712 W. Amelia Street, Orlando, 32805.

“At Boys & Girls Clubs we’re all about making sure our kids have a plan for after they graduate from high school,” said Service Director Tasha Robinson-Banks in a statement. “These days, a high school diploma is necessary but not sufficient. We need to ensure our Club members know their options for what comes next.”

Organizers said the drive-thru setup will allow for people with COVID-19 concerns to remain in their cars while receiving information and talking with college representatives.

Representatives from 20 colleges, branches of the U.S. military, and career training programs will be distributing brochures, applications, and scholarship information to the teens, and there will be opportunities to speak with the representatives and ask questions.
