Crowds continue to gather in Florida as health officials keep watch for COVID-19 omicron variant

ORLANDO, Fla. — There are now confirmed cases of the omicron variant in several states in the U.S.

Experts said omicron is spreading quickly, even faster than the delta variant.

A free country music concert in Orlando on Saturday is expected to draw around 25,000 people.

Even as large events are being held, city and county health officials are on guard for the possible arrival of the latest COVID-19 variant.

Travelers from all over the world are also continuing to come to the United States, and particularly Central Florida.
