Gunman who shot at people near UCF’s downtown campus arrested, police say

ORLANDO, Fla. — A gunman wanted for allegedly shooting at people near a University of Central Florida campus has been arrested, according to UCF police.

Orlando police said they arrested 19-year-old Careem Pryce in collection with the shooting.

The shooting occurred around early April 17 near the Subway on Livingston Street and North Magnolia Avenue.

Three people reported that a man shot at them outside of UnionWest at the UCF downtown campus.

The victims told police that earlier in the night, the group got into an altercation with the shooter at the Knight Library near UCF’s main campus and the individual stated he would shoot them.

Police said the gunman followed the group to the UCF downtown campus and shot at them.

Officers said no one was injured.

UCF police said the suspected shooter has no affiliation with UCF or Valencia College.

Police said Pryce has been charged with multiple felonies and he has been trespassed from all UCF property.

UCF police said video from surveillance cameras played a major role in identifying the suspect.
