Police and family ask for help in Ocoee triple shooting that left 2 dead

OCOEE, Fla. — Surrounded by family members, Jamy Blanc’s mother listened as Ocoee police asked for the public’s help in solving her son’s murder.

At a news conference Tuesday, Lt. Scott Nylander asked anyone who may know something to come forward.

“No matter how small that information may be, we’d much rather have them call and that information turns out to be nothing. Maybe that information is the key to that case,” Nylander said.

The shooting happened around 3:39 a.m. on Jan. 16 outside an Aldi on West Colonial Drive near Good Homes Road.

At the time, Ocoee police told Channel 9 they found three young men inside a silver four-door Nissan Altima that had crashed into a wall, and all three had been shot.

According to police, Kerry Pierre was pronounced dead at the scene while two other victims, Ken Fregiste and Jamy Blanc, were taken to the hospital.

A day after the shooting, Blanc succumbed to his injuries.

Fregiste is still in the hospital in critical condition.

Police said while they found plenty of evidence in Blanc’s car, there was nothing illegal that would point them to a motive in the case.

Investigators said all three men had been seen in Ocala just hours before the shooting.
