CASSELBERRY, Fla. — An Orange County correctional officer was arrested in Casselberry on Sunday accused of battering a pregnant woman, officials said.
Officials said Evince Clermond was arrested by Casselberry police on a domestic violence-related charge of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.
Orange County Corrections said Clermond was released from the John. E. Polk Correctional Facility on his own recognizance the same day.
Orange County Corrections said Clermond has been placed on relief of duty without pay pending the results of an internal investigation.
The department said Clermond has worked with Orange County Corrections since March 2016.
