ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County man was sentenced to life in prison Friday after being convicted of killing two people in 2024.

Christopher Daveian Haynes was convicted earlier this week of two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Joslyn Gray and Errol Irving.

The Office of the State Attorney for the Ninth Judicial Circuit prosecuted the case.

State Attorney Monique Worrell said the sentence holds Haynes accountable while acknowledging the loss the victims’ families continue to face.

“Gun violence has taken far too many lives in our community and no family should ever have to endure the loss of a loved one this way,” Worrell said. “Nothing can bring Joslyn and Errol back, but this sentence makes sure the person who took their lives is held accountable.”

Worrell also thanked the prosecutors and law enforcement agencies involved in the case.

“Fighting gun violence remains one of my office’s highest priorities and we will keep aggressively prosecuting those who use firearms to harm our neighbors,” Worrell said. “I want to thank our prosecutors and law enforcement partners for their hard work, dedication and commitment to pursuing justice for these victims and their families.”
