Orlando man dies after crashing SUV into tree in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are investigating a deadly crash in east Orange County.

Troopers said the crash happened just before 1 a.m. near the intersection of Lake Underhill Road and South Palermo Avenue.

Investigators said a 19-year-old Orlando man was driving a Jeep SUV eastbound on Lake Underhill Road, when he somehow lost control.

The man jumped the shoulder on the other side of the road, hit a street sign and fence, before overturning the vehicle.

The SUV then came to a halt as it crashed into a tree.

According to a report, the man was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

Officials said the man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Troopers said the cause of the crash is under investigation.
