Orlando woman arrested after threatening to kill congresswoman

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando woman is behind bars after federal investigators believe she threatened to kill Orlando Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy.

Elizabeth Schneider, 52, remains locked up while she awaits trial. She allegedly made than 100 threatening phone calls made over several months.

Investigators said it started with harassing phone calls between February and April. Then over the next several months, records show they seemed to escalate with threats to kill Murphy, then to specifically show up at her house and kill her.
