Police: 3rd suspect involved in shootout with Orlando officers in custody

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said the third suspect involved in a shootout with officers was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Police said the shooting happened Tuesday near Camping World Stadium. They said the third suspect, Michael Collins, 19, was taken into custody near the stadium as well.

Police said Collins is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder on a law enforcement officer with a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Police said a man and two teenagers were on bicycles on the sidewalk when two officers from the Special Enforcement Unit approached them in an unmarked car.

Rolon said the teens shot at the police officers while they sat inside their car near the intersection of Jacobs Place and South Lakeland Avenue.

He said neither officer was injured.

Rolon said the officers fired their weapons from the inside the car, injuring at least one of the teens in the leg. He said the injured teen, identified as Travis Weston, 17, was taken into custody and is expected to be OK.

Rolon said the second suspect, identified as Jameon Brown, 22, was taken into custody just before 3:30 p.m. uninjured.

Police said Brown told them that he was injured in his arm. He was treated by the Orlando Fire Department before being booked.
