Unity Heritage Festival returns to Winter Park this weekend

WINTER PARK, Fla. — Winter Park’s annual festival to promote family heritage and raise funds to benefit economically disadvantaged children returns this weekend.

The 21st annual Unity Heritage Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 15, and Monday, Jan. 16, in Shady Park at Hannibal Square.

The event will include children’s games, career booths, food and retail vendors, and job training/health literacy services provided by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Nu Iota Omega Chapter.

Sunday will feature various gospel artists and mime and praise dance performances.

Monday’s program will feature a symbolic program at 11 a.m. for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as well as blues and jazz bands performances featuring Brenda White and Jabari Clay.
