Woman on bicycle killed by motorcyclist racing BMW in Orange County, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed it is searching for the driver of a BMW after a street race turned deadly in Orange County.

Troopers said the driver of a white BMW was racing a motorcyclist at around 3 p.m. Sunday on Colonial Drive.

The motorcycle was being driven by a 26-year-old Orlando man who struck a 37-year-old woman from Christmas who was crossing Colonial Drive near Avalon Parkway, according to a report.

Troopers said both were taken to a hospital where the woman died, and the man is being treated for serious injuries.

Officials said they are looking for the driver of the BMW that left the scene of the crash.

Anyone with information on this crash is asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol.
