Woman dies after being ejected from car on turnpike, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that happened early Monday on the turnpike.

At about 3 a.m., troopers said a 27-year-old woman was stopped on the shoulder of the turnpike with her hazard lights on near mile marker 256.

Troopers said another failed to keep control of his car when he struck into a guardrail. The driver continued to travel along the guardrail until the front of his vehicle struck the back of the woman’s car.

After the impact, troopers said the woman’s car spun and she was ejected.

The man’s car was overturned.

The crash remains under investigation.

Troopers said there are charges pending against the man.
