Woman found dead at Orange County intersection

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating after a woman was found dead at an intersection.

Channel 9 was there Sunday morning as deputies put crime scene tape up around South Orange Avenue and 6th Street.

The call came in around 6:20 a.m.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found a woman had been shot and killed.

Deputies said they are still working to find out who the woman is and who shot her.

Neighbors trying to shop at a nearby store were surprised to see a crime scene investigation van and at least five deputy patrol cars.

Deputies focused on a retention pond next to a Dollar Tree on South Orange Avenue, but it’s unclear whether it is connected to the deadly shooting.
