Woman, 76, dies after being stabbed several times by 79-year-old roommate, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 76-year-old woman died after she was stabbed several times during a fight with her 79-year-old roommate, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Just after 11 a.m. Saturday, deputies said they responded to the 2000 block of Hastings Street in reference to a fight between two female roommates in their 70s.

Deputies said they found one of the roommates with multiple stab wounds.

The woman, later identified as 76-year-old Suzanne Dickens, was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead, deputies said.

The suspect, 79-year-old Thelma Atterbury, was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder with a weapon.
