LAKELAND, Fla. — LAKELAND, Fla. — Orlando Health has opened a new free-standing emergency department in North Lakeland, expanding access to around-the-clock emergency care for residents in the area.
The Orlando Health Emergency Room – North Lakeland is located at 963 Lakeland Park Center Drive in the Lakeland Park Center shopping plaza and is now serving patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
“The nationally recognized emergency care of Orlando Health is now nearby for North Lakeland residents, with the peace of mind that comes with a staff dedicated to helping patients through all critical-care situations,” said Dr. Brody Hingst, emergency department director at Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital.
The facility is staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians, specially trained nurses and paramedics who treat both adults and children. The emergency room includes 18 private treatment rooms and is equipped to handle a wide range of medical emergencies, including chest pain, broken bones and pediatric emergencies.
According to Orlando Health, the facility offers advanced emergency services, including cardiac monitoring, a dedicated cardiac and respiratory resuscitation room, diagnostic imaging services such as CT scans, ultrasounds and X-rays, and a full-service laboratory.
The emergency department’s pediatric team has received specialized pediatric readiness training from experts at Orlando Health Children’s Arnold Palmer Hospital, preparing staff to care for infants, children and adolescents requiring emergency treatment.
The new facility is part of Orlando Health’s ongoing expansion across Central Florida and Polk County as the health system continues to increase access to emergency and specialty care services.
