ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic announced Tuesday that the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation (OMYF) has awarded $775,000 in grants to 21 nonprofit organizations serving at-risk youth across Central Florida.
The grants were presented during the inaugural OMYF Collective Impact Reveal Luncheon at Kia Center and represent the first installment of the $1.8 million the foundation plans to distribute during the 2026-27 season.
Organizations in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Brevard counties received funding for programs focused on education, health and wellness, the arts, housing, and homelessness.
Among the recipients were the Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, Foundation for Seminole County Public Schools, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, Heart of Florida United Way, Orlando Science Center, AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida, and Habitat for Humanity Greater Orlando & Osceola County.
The Magic also announced the creation of the OMYF Collective, a new initiative designed to connect nonprofit leaders and organizations through collaboration, professional development, and leadership training opportunities.
According to the foundation, education programs received the largest share of the summer grants, totaling $435,000, followed by $190,000 for health and wellness initiatives, $100,000 for homelessness-related programs, and $50,000 for arts programs.
Orange County organizations received the largest share of funding at $515,000, while groups in Seminole County received $100,000, Brevard County organizations received $85,000, and an Osceola County organization received $50,000.
The Magic said a second round of grants through its winter grant cycle will be announced in February 2027.
According to the organization, this marks the 19th time the Magic have distributed at least $1 million to the community in a single year. Over the past 37 years, the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation has provided more than $32 million to nonprofit organizations throughout Central Florida.
