ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando residents will have a chance Monday to weigh in on the city’s proposed $1.8 billion budget.
The spending plan includes funding for new police and fire positions, along with money for road repairs.
At the same time, city leaders are preparing for the possibility of losing millions of dollars in revenue if Florida voters approve property tax reform in November.
As part of those preparations, the proposed budget includes a hiring freeze across most city departments.
The public budget hearing is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Monday.
