ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An Orange County track coach is facing charges after being accused of molesting an athlete who was paying him for training sessions.
Quentin Freeman, 33, a self-employed track coach who runs a basketball program and trains aspiring athletes, was arrested Monday night after a teenage athlete came forward with allegations that the coach molested her.
The victim told detectives she first met Freeman for a training session at a local park, and while there, the coach inappropriately touched her.
The second alleged incident happened after Freeman asked the victim to come to his Orlando home for training, where he lives with his wife.
"That doesn't sit well with me. It's bad for sport in general," said soccer coach Raymond Wright.
Investigators said Freeman molested the victim while trying to give her a massage.
When he was brought in for questioning, detectives said Freeman denied the inappropriate touching and offered to provide proof, before changing his mind and refusing to talk any further.
Investigators said that while the detective was typing his arrest paperwork, Freeman tried to free himself from handcuffs.
According to reports, detectives found another former athlete during the investigation, who made similar claim against Freeman.
The track coach also a nonprofit organization aimed at underprivileged children.
"I hope they lock him up and they throw the key away, I just hope they do," said Wright.
Freeman was charged with sexual activity with a child. He was booked into the Orange County Jail, but has since bonded out.
