Central Florida long has made a name for itself for spring training baseball, but when it comes to more large-scale approaches such as building a baseball stadium, it has struck out more than once.

Now, the topic of baseball stadiums in Orlando is back in the conversation thanks to Orlando Magic Co-founder Pat Williams and his group, Orlando City Baseball Dreamers LLC, which have made a bid to create the next Major League Baseball franchise — the Orlando Dreamers.
Williams is still in the early stages of the process, including trying to find an owner for the proposed team and getting the funding for the proposed $1.7 billion stadium — including making a pitch to get $975 million in Orange County tourist development tax revenue.
