Pedestrian fatalities are at an all-time high in Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Pedestrian traffic deaths have hit a four-decade high, in Orange County last year 45% involved bicyclists and pedestrians.

  • Use a crosswalk
  • Wait your turn
  • Wear bright clothing
  • Keep your head on a swivel

Corporal Daniel Jonas with the Florida Highway Patrol says, “They are willing to challenge an automobile and I don’t see them ever winning.” Cpl. Jones continues, “You’re trusting that other driver is paying attention...and that isn’t always the case and for that reason, you pay the ultimate price.”
