Police looking for suspect in deadly drive-by shooting in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police are looking for information leading to the suspect in a fatal drive-by shooting Thursday that killed one man.

The shooting happened just before 3 p.m. in front of a house along City Park Avenue and Mercy Drive.

Neighbors rushed outside as soon as they heard the stream of gunfire, and told Orlando police the bullets came from a car that sped away from the scene as fast as it came.

“I came out of my house and my neighbor was telling me about it,” said Linda Williams, one of the residents.

Investigators said the victim has been identified as 21-year-old Daniel Moore.

A description of the suspect vehicle has not been released.

Orlando Police Sgt. David Baker said he didn’t know if Moore was targeted or not. However, a woman who identified as Moore’s mother said her son was the target, but did not say why.

She said her son was 21 years old, and the youngest of three children.

Crime-scene tape zigzagged around the street and more than two dozen evidence markers lined the scene. Family and friends stayed on the scene for hours waiting for answers.
