JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A 6-month-old girl was found alive in a car with a dead man and a woman, police said.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the child was found Wednesday night, along with two people who had been fatally shot.
Police are working with the Department of Children and Families to reunite the girl with her family. They did not identify any of the people involved.
Sheriff's Chief Tom Hackney said deputies responded to a reported accident and found a black Nissan Maxima that had crashed into a carport of a house.
Hackney said it does not appear to be a murder-suicide. He said no bullet holes were found on the outside of the car, so the gunman could have also been inside at some point.
