LAKELAND, Fla. — A Polk County cat rescue will sell cat-themed cotton candy at a Halloween event this weekend to raise money for rescued cats and kittens.
DLB Cat Rescue Inc., known online as Polk City Kitties, will participate in the Thormeier Family Events Trick-or-Treat Pathway at GT II Ranch on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17–18.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days at 4333 Cindy Road in Lakeland. Admission is free, according to the announcement.
The rescue said money raised at its booth will support veterinary care, spaying and neutering, and everyday care for the animals.
Visitors can meet the rescue team, learn about its work and ask about volunteering. Founder and director Dean R. Menendez said the organization is funded by community support.
The booth is for fundraising and outreach. The rescue has not announced plans to bring animals or offer on-site adoptions.
