BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A priest saved a fellow man of the cloth from drowning off the coast of Brevard County on Wednesday.
A priest from Poland was visiting Playalinda Beach with Pastor Krzysztof Bugno from Titusville, when he started struggling in the water.
Bugno said he and another person were able to pull his friend up to the shore and give him CPR, which he said he learned by watching TV.
"As a priest, they don't train us in medical response. But I had wonderful people at the beach that helped me," said Bugno.
"Then there was the man in the water and we thought, 'Oh my God.' And so we ran to the man and we pulled him out of the water," said witness Lea Nikiforow.
The rescued priest was taken to the hospital and will be OK.
