ORLANDO, Fla. — Residents in a downtown Orlando neighborhood are fed up with construction creating noise late at night and into the early morning hours.
The manager of the Artisan 420 apartment project in the Thornton Park area admitted that he’s gotten a lot of complaints, but said the concrete pours have to be done in the early morning hours because of weather and traffic.
“We’re working with the residents, we’re working with the city, we’re aware and we’re trying to communicate with them,” said Mike Neumann.
Residents said it’s not enough.
“I have woken up maybe 1 in the morning, hearing banging and trucks,” said resident Brian Bryant.
City officials said that if the noise is heard any time outside the hours of 1 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, residents need to call in their complaints and they will investigate.
“I would like them to finish or just (work) in the day hours,” said Bryant.
City officials said no noise violations have been found.
Neumann said the concrete pours in the early morning hours will continue through mid-January.
