ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando residents in and around West Gore Avenue are complaining that the county has repeatedly not picked up now-rotting discarded furniture.
When Channel 9’s Mike Manzoni visited the area, he reported finding TVs, couches, mattresses, box springs and much more on the side of the road.
Resident Dedra Knight said she has called the county numerous times over the past three months trying to set up a time for the items to be picked up, but nothing ever materialized.
“I feel like I’m getting the runaround,” she said. “I feel like no one cares.”
As items sit on the curb in the rain and sun, Knight said she was tired of the neighborhood she takes so much pride in looking more and more like a used furniture store.
“I’m just frustrated,” she said.
When contacted by Channel 9, county leaders said they were going to work with Knight and other residents in the area to schedule pickups.
