ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — Altamonte Springs police are hoping surveillance video will help them identify two robbery suspects who targeted a store on busy SR-436.
Police said the thieves used a gun to get cash from the employees at the Christmas Tree Shops on East Altamonte Drive Sunday.
Police told Channel 9's Bianca Castro the surveillance video is their best clue in identifying the crooks.
In the video, one of the men can be seen pointing a gun at the employees as they empty out the registers.
"They were brazen, obviously dangerous," said Robert Pelton of the Altamonte Springs Police Department.
Cameras captured the duo as they walked in the store 20 minutes earlier, browsed the aisles and even bought a few items before leaving. Minutes later, both returned and robbed the employees.
"The employees are rattled anytime something like this happens. It's quite scary," said Pelton.
The store sits along SR-436, which is lined with many shops and restaurants, but it's tucked away and can barely be seen from the road.
No injuries were reported in the robbery.
Anyone with information is asked to contact authorities.
