OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Osceola County will be the new home to the Runaway Country Music Festival, officials announced Monday.
Officials are calling it, "the most significant music event in the history of Osceola Heritage Park."
The festival, which had been held in Melbourne the past five years, has out grown its facility and was looking to expand, according to executives of the worldwide venue management company, SMG.
Officials said they hope Heritage Park will be the perfect venue for the country music event, which includes nonstop music, shopping, dining, back stage meet-and-greets, contests and more.
Commissioner Cheryl Grieb said she believes the event will bring much-needed revenue and various business opportunities to the area.
"This venue, here, at Osceola Heritage Park, along with SMG, gives them an opportunity over the next 10 years to grow this even further. They had incensed about 45,000 attendees last year and with about a $6 million impact. So, here, obviously having additional land and more opportunities this is just going to be tremendous for Osceola," said Grieb.
In past events, the festival's lineup has included artists Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban and the list goes on.
While the lineup for next year's event has yet to be announced, tickets go on sale next month.
