ORLANDO, Fla. — The Salvation Army Orlando Area Command appointed Sasha Teman as its new public relations manager.
In her new role, Teman will oversee media relations, direct communications campaigns, enhance public awareness of organizational programs, and assist with donor engagement efforts across the region.
Teman previously worked as a multimedia journalist in newsrooms across Canada and the United States. Her professional background includes work in media relations, crisis communications, storytelling, and community engagement.
Prior to her appointment, Teman volunteered at the organization’s Men’s Shelter, gaining experience with the local populations served by the command.
“I know my background in journalism has prepared me to communicate with purpose, build strong relationships, and help tell the stories of hope, resilience, and transformation that happen every day through The Salvation Army,” Teman said.
Organization leadership highlighted the role of communications in reaching local communities. Major Roger Glick serves as the Orlando Area Commander for The Salvation Army.
“We are excited about the leadership, creativity, and passion Sasha will bring to strengthening our communications and sharing the impact of our work across the Orlando Area Command and beyond,” Glick said.
The appointment comes as The Salvation Army works to increase public awareness of its resources, assistance programs, and community outreach throughout Orange and Osceola counties.
