Still no arrests in fatal shooting inside gated Orange County complex

ORLANDO, Fla. — The search continues Monday for a group of men who shot and killed a man during a robbery inside a gated Orange County community Saturday night.

Robert Bosso, 28, was found shot to death at the Verona Valencia apartments on South Kirkman Road near Valencia College.

Homicide detectives said three to five men robbed Bosso before the shooting.

Channel 9 learned Bosso graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2013 and worked for Lockheed Martin until recently.

Resident Keith McKenzie was shocked to learn of the violence in his neighborhood.

"It's crazy. I just moved here three months ago," McKenzie said. "I moved here for gated communities and stuff like that, and it’s a travesty that we have violence like this around here."

A resident, who talked with Channel 9, said he had a gun put up to the back of his head on Monday night when he walked out to his car in the parking lot.

"Once I was robbed, it was reported to the cops," the man said, asking to remain unidentified. "They brought a K-9. It was reported to the front desk. I think they should have done something before this had to happen."

The apartment complex is closed off to the public by gates, but residents said the security is easy to bypass.

"We do notice [that] frequently, a lot of people run the gates or hold the gates open for people, so we try to do our best to be proactive and tell people when we see them running the gates or holding them open," said resident Jeffrey Via.

Signs on the gates said the gates are timed for only one vehicle to go through, but Channel 9 cameras caught more than one car getting in at a time.

Detectives interviewed a witness to the shooting but haven't released additional details.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 407-423-TIPS.
