Seminole County begins administering 8,100 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County and the Florida Department of Health began vaccinating some residents on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Seminole County received 8,100 Moderna COVID-19 vaccines. On Wednesday morning, vaccine dispensing began for Seminole County’s priority group 1A, which includes health care workers delivering direct frontline services such as COVID-19 testing and treatment, county and municipal EMTs and paramedics and Florida Department of Health staff.

The county will administer vaccines in accordance with the State of Florida’s order of prioritized groups, which are:

Priority 1A:

  • Residents 65 years and older;
  • Residents/staff in long term care facilities;

Priority 1B:

  • Law Enforcement;
  • 9-1-1 operators; and
  • Non-clinical critical/public health workers.

Vaccine dispensing sites open Monday and are by appointment only. Appointments are exclusively available for Seminole County residents in priority group 1A.

Online registration to receive the COVID-19 vaccine is available at PrepareSeminole.org. Limited appointments are available daily. If a patient is unable to make an appointment they can call 407-665-0000 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The dispensing site will be inside the Oviedo Mall.
