Teen shot during altercation outside Orlando Hooters restaurant

ORLANDO, Fla. — Shots were fired in the parking lot of a Hooters restaurant Monday evening, leaving a 16-year-old wounded, according to Orlando police.

Police are investigating the shooting that happened outside the Hooters restaurant at Kirkman and Vineland roads shortly before 6 p.m.

"I heard two shots, a brief pause, then it sounded like five or six more," said a witness, who didn't want to be identified.

According to investigators, a teenager was shot during an altercation involving at least two people in the parking lot.

"I didn't really see much, but a kid with blood on his face and a shirt on it to cover up the blood and running away," the witness said.

The victim reportedly drove himself to the hospital and his condition is unknown.

Police said the windows of a nearby business were struck by bullets fired during the incident.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black Nissan Altima with the driver's window possibly shot out.

Police said they found a gun that they believe was used in the shooting.
