No arrests yet in shooting outside busy strip mall

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators are still looking for the suspects who opened fire at a busy shopping plaza Tuesday evening.

Some of the shooting was captured on camera at a nearby business, which has been shared with investigators.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies just before 6 p.m. responded to the 8000 block of East Colonial Drive for a shooting. The victims exited a store and were shot at by unknown suspects, deputies said.

The video shows a white car pulling out of its parking spot, then shots firing from the car. The shooter appears to be targeting a man, who runs toward the Mister Car Wash next door.

Nobody was injured, but several vehicles were struck by gunfire, according to investigators.

More than two dozen evidence markers, many next to visible shell casings, were found on the scene. Bullet holes also have chipped away at the cement wall.

Miguel Diaz, a mechanic, heard the non-stop gunfire across the street from where he works and scrambled for cover. He said it was like 20 or 30 bullets.

“I’ve never heard so many bullets around here,” said Diaz, who has been working in the area for 10 years. “I was at the office when I heard it, so I ran out here with the dog and then they still (were) shooting, so I hid behind the wall.”
