DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police said they are trying to find the people who shot at and beat the son of a state representative.
Investigators said someone attacked Patrick Henry Jr., 22, Wednesday afternoon on Thunderbird Drive.
Henry is the son of state representative Patrick Henry and the nephew of Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry.
According to a police report, witnesses saw a car chasing Henry on Thunderbird Drive.
Witnesses said they heard what sounded like a gunshot, but they did not know where it came from.

Witnesses also said a man got out of the vehicle and began punching Henry in the face and threw him into a tree.
Police said a woman got out of the car and handed the man a gun, who shot at Henry several times and then drove away, police said.
Police said Henry had a small cut on his head from the attack and was able to drive himself to the hospital.
He's expected to be OK.
Police have not provided any motive for the attack.
The victim is also the nephew of Daytona Beach City Commissioner Dannette Henry, who told police she heard the gunshots and witnessed part of the attack, authorities said.
