ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A St. Augustine man is behind bars for open felony warrants, but what’s interesting is what was found on him when he was arrested.
Harley Canada had a bag down his pants filled with women’s jewelry.
Canada is now in the St. Johns County Jail. According to an arrest report, he had a long list of women’s jewelry items found on him, but he told police they were his.
Deputies in St. Johns County recognized Canada two days ago at a Kangaroo gas station. Canada was asked to step out of the car that was parked at the gas station and then resisted arrest.
Once officers patted him down, they found a Crown Royal bag shoved down his pants filled with 20 different women’s jewelry pieces, like silver necklace with an infinity charm.

“We don’t know where the jewelry originated from, he obviously made claims it was his, we obviously know it was female jewelry,” said St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Cmdr. Chuck Mulligan.
Mulligan said investigators have taken that jewelry and are looking to see if it could be stolen.
“What we are doing is checking all of our reports and other reports from surrounding agencies to see if jewelry that matches this jewelry is stolen,” Mulligan said.
Maggie Flynn said she keeps her jewelry in a safe place.
“I’ll put it in my house in like a little container under my cabinet,” Flynn said.
Mulligan said if the jewelry is found not to be stolen, they’ll return it to Canada.
Canada has a more than $100,0000 bond on charges such as vehicle theft, fleeing/eluding police and dealing in stolen property.
