ORLANDO, Fla. — Tesla is facing questions over the safety of its autopilot feature following a deadly crash in Florida.

In August, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said an impaired driver using autopilot hit a motorcycle, killing its rider.
That was the third deadly crash involving the software and motorcycles this year.

Motorcycle safety advocates are concerned the Tesla software doesn’t see motorcycles.
Tesla has highlighted features designed to remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road.

Central Florida has also seen crashes involving Tesla cars on autopilot.
In August of last year, a Tesla hit a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser that had stopped to help an SUV on Interstate 4.

The driver of the Tesla was ticketed for failing to move over and no one was seriously hurt.
