ORLANDO, Fla. — Tickets are now on sale for the Florida premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy “Death Becomes Her.”
The production will run from Dec. 1 through Dec. 6 at the Walt Disney Theater inside Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
Single-performance tickets can be purchased through the performing arts center’s website.
Based on the 1992 Universal Pictures film, “Death Becomes Her” follows longtime friends-turned-rivals Madeline Ashton and Helen Sharp.
After Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé, Helen begins plotting revenge. Their rivalry takes a supernatural turn when the mysterious Viola Van Horn offers them a potion that restores their youth and beauty.
The touring production stars Jackie Burns as Madeline Ashton, Kristen Beth Williams as Helen Sharp, Ken Marino as Ernest Menville and Nasia Thomas as Viola Van Horn.
The company also includes Louis A. Williams Jr., Michael Buchanan, Gail Bennett, Calvin Cooper, Nick Cortazzo, Tiki Hopson, David Houle, Karma Jenkins, Tyler Jimenez, Caroline Kane, Bryn Purvis, Jordan Vasquez and Candace Janin Washington.
“Death Becomes Her” features direction and choreography by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli, a book by Marco Pennette and an original score by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey.
The musical began on Broadway in 2024 and earned multiple Tony Award nominations. Its North American tour is scheduled to launch in September before reaching Orlando in December.
The original film starred Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, Bruce Willis and Isabella Rossellini. It was directed by Robert Zemeckis.
