BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Some Titusville residents complained to Channel 9's Melonie Holt that they've been dealing with street flooding for months. And they fear it's only going to get worse now that Central Florida is in its rainy season.
Residents along Country Club Drive said it doesn’t take much for the road to become a waterway.
“It floods from just where that school crossing is over to the pedestrian crossing,” Doug Rice told Eyewitness News.
Eyewitness News was in the neighborhood Friday as water collected on the roadway and drivers tried to navigate through it.
“It is cars slowing down and trucks speeding up trying to create big sprays. It's kind of like Disneyworld,” said resident Ted Brown, who added that the bigger issue is the broken water pump. It’s been at the La Cita Golf and Country Club for about a year. It’s next to a rusted drainage pipe that has caused a sinkhole at the golf club.
City officials told Eyewitness News they’re aware of the problem and said a contractor will fix the pipe once parts arrive at the end of next week.
