Florida reports almost 14,900 new COVID-19 cases, 161 deaths since yesterday

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida health officials reported 14,896 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 1,503,482.

The state also reported 161 additional virus-related deaths between both Florida residents and nonresidents.

There have been 23,585 virus-related deaths reported since the pandemic began.

Of the latest deaths, 52 were reported in Central Florida.

Polk County reported the most deaths, with 28. Other deaths reported locally included eight in both Orange and Marion counties, two each in Seminole and Sumter counties, and one each in Brevard and Lake counties.

Flagler, Osceola, and Volusia counties reported no deaths.
