ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A new VA clinic in Lake Nona is open Tuesday, marking the first time the campus will offer primary care services to central Florida veterans.
"It's matching patient-centered care with the latest in medical technology and medicine itself," said Mike Strickler, Lake Nona public affairs
After hundreds of millions of dollars and several delays, the hospital is still not open, but the Orlando VA said the clinic will be able to help many people.
A spokesperson said the $600 million facility boasts a parking garage with 3,200 parking spaces.
It will serve veterans from 10 counties.
"Everyone who walks in here needs to have that audible pause of, 'Wow, this was built for me,' because, specifically, that's what it was built for," said Mike Strickler of the Orlando VA Medical Center public affairs.
The hospital is set to open in the fall.
