MIMS, Fla. — A new veterans' cemetery is opening this week in Mims.
The VA held a private ceremony Tuesday at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on US-1 for 12 deceased veterans, who received military honors.
The opening ceremony at the cemetery was held in November.
The cemetery will open Wednesday for the burial of all eligible veterans, spouses or dependents.
The new cemetery is expected to serve the burial needs of more than 163,000 veterans over the next 100 years.
