Volusia County announces adjusted public services for Labor Day Monday

County offices and libraries will close Monday, while trash collection will continue on its normal schedule

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County is adjusting several public services for Labor Day on Monday, Sept. 7.

County administrative offices and some facilities will be closed for the holiday, while trash collection and several other services will continue.

Libraries

All Volusia County Public Library branches will be closed Monday.

Trash and recycling

There will be no change to garbage, recycling, yard waste or bulk waste collection in unincorporated Volusia County.

Residents with a regular Monday pickup should place items at the curb by 6 a.m.

People living within incorporated cities should check with their municipal waste provider for any holiday schedule changes.

The West Volusia Transfer Station and Tomoka Farms Road Landfill will operate on their regular schedules.

Public transportation

VoTran and VoAccess will operate on a Sunday schedule for Labor Day.

VoRide service will not be available Monday.

County attractions

DeBary Hall, Lyonia Environmental Center and the Marine Science Center will remain open during the holiday weekend before observing their normal Monday closures on Labor Day.

Animal shelter

The Volusia County Animal Shelter will be closed Monday.
