VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The Volusia Sheriff’s Office arrested 46-year-old Robert Newell after he turned himself in on a warrant for possession of a sexual performance by a child on Oct. 9.
The investigation began with a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
The VSO Child Exploitation Unit obtained a search warrant for Newell’s residence and seized multiple computers, hard drives, cell phones, tablets, and other media, where they found multiple explicit images and videos of children.
Newell remains in custody with a total bond of $500,000.
