Volusia County salons buzzing with business again

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The clippers are buzzing once again at barbershops across Volusia County.

Since hair salons were allowed to reopen on Monday, Main Street Barber Shop in Daytona Beach has been booked all day, after being closed since March 28.

Owner Ken Peters said they stocked up on cleaning supplies before they were forced to shut down. Employees are wearing masks, only doing haircuts by appointment and cleaning down the chair after every customer.

At Todd Patrick & Co. Salon in Ormond Beach, clients had been lining up since 8 a.m. and the phone has been ringing “off the hook,” owner Todd Patrick said.

For Todd Patrick & Co., people will be required to wear masks when they come in, and chairs will be spread apart to ensure social distancing.
