ORANGE CITY, Fla. — The City of Orange City is scheduled to launch a citywide water meter replacement program starting Monday, Aug. 10.
Over approximately three months, National Metering Services Inc. will replace older units to maintain accurate readings and reliable infrastructure.
“Replacing water meters every 10 to 15 years is considered a best management practice and helps maintain accurate readings and reliable utility infrastructure,” according to a release from Orange City officials.
Residents and businesses do not need to be present for the installation, but they are asked to keep meter boxes accessible.
Customers are asked to keep their meter boxes accessible and free of vehicles, landscaping, dirt or other obstructions.
The City says signs will be placed in active work areas and moved as crews progress through the City. Updates on current work areas will also be posted online.
