Prowling suspect caught in the act with ‘his pants down’ in Volusia County, deputies say

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A man accused of exposing himself to a woman last week was caught Saturday night with his pants down outside of her bedroom window, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Deltona resident Francisco Javier Orozco-Gutierrez was arrested after a short foot chase around the corner of the home on Dunlap Drive.

Investigators said they had been working on the case since Monday after a report of a suspect knocking on the victim’s bedroom window, then exposing himself to her at her sliding glass door.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office posted a public safety alert about the incident and had been actively looking for the man.

Deputies said another resident on nearby Lavilla Street reported someone knocking at the front door around 2 a.m. on Wednesday.

The original victim also reported to deputies that someone had knocked loudly on her rear sliding glass door for several minutes on Thursday evening and she was too afraid to look out her windows.

Officials said that while conducting surveillance on the victim’s home Saturday night, they spotted Orozco-Gutierrez peeking into the window and moved in to make an arrest.

Orozco-Gutierrez was charged with indecent exposure, voyeurism, stalking, loitering or prowling, and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies found a crack pipe in the immediate area where Orozco-Gutierrez was taken into custody.

He was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail where he remained held Sunday morning on a $33,000 bond.
