BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A woman was arrested Sunday after crashing a wedding in Brevard County then refusing to leave, according to the Satellite Beach Police Department.
Officers around 8 p.m. responded to the 1400 block of Highway A1A in Satellite Beach in reference to a disturbance at a wedding involving an uninvited guest who was causing a scene and getting physically violent, according to police.
While talking to the woman who initially called police, the uninvited guest got in her face and “got verbally aggressive to the point of almost physical violence,” police said.
An officer put himself between the two women and asked the uninvited guest to stand behind his patrol car. She refused.
When the officer tried to put handcuffs on the wedding crasher, she resisted by bracing, tensing, pulling away and refusing to comply with lawful orders, police said. She was eventually placed in handcuffs and put in the patrol car.
The groom told police the woman got beer and food, and when he asked her to leave because she was not invited, she got in the groom’s face and got verbally aggressive. The groom told police the woman was asked to leave on multiple occasions by multiple people, but she refused, police said.
The uninvited guest refused to identify herself and provide a name. She was eventually identified as Gloria Ines Colwell, 52, of Satellite Beach. She was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting without violence and trespass after warning. She was eventually transported to Brevard County Jail.
