ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — The Department of Business and Professional Regulation is investigating after a Volusia County mother said her daughter was bitten by bed bugs while she and her daughter stayed at the Econo Lodge motel on Highway 1 in Ormond Beach.
She said her daughter had to be hospitalized from an allergic reaction to those bites.

The mother, whose name was not given, said the motel denied it had bed bugs and refused to give her a refund.
