DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — A south Florida woman said she used a toy gun to scare away a home invader.
Jane Rainboth said she was sleeping in her Deerfield Beach home Monday night, and she woke up to her dog growling.
That's when she said she saw a masked man peeking in her doorway.
"I just started saying, 'I got a gun! I got a gun!'" said Rainboth. "You know this really gave me the confidence, even though it's a toy. I felt like I had some sort of defense.
Police said the Roland Stuart ran for his life after seeing Rainboth with what he thought was a real gun.
Stuart was found in nearby woods.
